How PSS Labs collects, uses and protects information when you use the Looseleaf app and related services.

Pradipta Das (PSS Labs) built the Looseleaf app as a Freemium app. This SERVICE is provided by Pradipta Das (PSS Labs) and is intended for use as is.

This page is used to inform anyone using the app regarding my policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use my Service.

If you choose to use my Service, then you agree to the terms in this policy. The Personal Information you enter is used only for providing the Service. I do not collect, transmit, or share your information with anyone, except as described in this Privacy Policy.

The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

Looseleaf is an offline, on-device app. The documents you scan or import, the PDFs the app creates, their names, and the text recognized inside them are stored only on your device. I do not collect this information, and it is never sent to me or to any server. The app works fully offline and makes no network calls to fetch or upload your documents.

The camera is used only to photograph the pages you are scanning. Photo library and file access are used only to open the images or PDFs you pick. Nothing is read in the background, and no image or file leaves your device on its own.

Text recognition, which makes your scans searchable, runs entirely on your device. The recognized text is saved alongside your document on the device so the in-app search can find it, and it is not uploaded anywhere.

Sharing, sending, and saving a copy to your phone's storage happen only when you choose to. The file goes to the app or location you pick, and I do not receive a copy.

Third Party Services

Looseleaf does not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or crash/log reporting services. No usage data, log data, or device identifiers are collected by the app.

The only third parties involved are the app stores that handle the one-time unlock purchase:

* Apple App Store (StoreKit)

* Google Play Billing

These are used solely to process the optional one-time unlock and to restore it on your devices. Their handling of your purchase information is governed by their own privacy policies.

On Android, the document scanner uses Google Play Services, which downloads its scanning modules to your device the first time you scan. This download fetches the scanning software only, never your documents, and Google's handling of that request is governed by its own privacy policy. On iOS the scanner is built into the operating system, so nothing is downloaded.

Log Data

Looseleaf does not collect Log Data. The app does not gather your IP address, device name, operating system details, or usage statistics, and it does not send any such information off your device.

Cookies

This Service does not use cookies. As the app does not load remote content or web tracking, no cookies are stored or transmitted.

Security

Your documents stay on your device, inside the app's own private storage, protected by your device's security. Password protection you add to a PDF is applied to the file itself. I value your trust, but remember that no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security of data once it leaves your device through a share or a copy you save yourself.

This Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by me. I strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. I have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children's Privacy

This Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. Since the app stores everything locally and collects nothing, no such information reaches me. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has scanned or saved something into the app, that data resides only on the device and can be removed by deleting it within the app.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. I will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
