Pradipta Das (PSS Labs) built the SplitEx app as a Freemium app. This SERVICE is provided by Pradipta Das (PSS Labs) and is intended for use as is.
This page is used to inform anyone using the app regarding my policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use my Service.
If you choose to use my Service, then you agree to the terms in this policy. The Personal Information you enter is used only for providing the Service. I do not collect, transmit, or share your information with anyone, except as described in this Privacy Policy.
The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.
Information Collection and Use
SplitEx is a local-first app. The expense, group, friend, and settlement data you enter is stored only on your device. I do not collect this information, and it is never sent to me or to any server. The app works fully offline and makes no network calls to fetch or upload your personal data.
Currency exchange rates are entered manually by you and stored on your device. The app does not connect to any rate service.
Backups and exports are created only when you choose to. They are saved or shared by you, to a location you pick. I do not receive a copy.
Third Party Services
SplitEx does not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or crash/log reporting services. No usage data, log data, or device identifiers are collected by the app.
The only third parties involved are the app stores that handle in-app purchases:
These are used solely to process the optional premium upgrade. Their handling of your purchase information is governed by their own privacy policies.
Log Data
SplitEx does not collect Log Data. The app does not gather your IP address, device name, operating system details, or usage statistics, and it does not send any such information off your device.
Cookies
This Service does not use cookies. As the app does not load remote content or web tracking, no cookies are stored or transmitted.
Security
Your data stays on your device. Encrypted backups you create are protected with AES-256-GCM using a passphrase you choose. I value your trust, but remember that no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security of data once it leaves your device through a backup or export you initiate.

I strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. I have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
Children's Privacy
This Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. Since the app stores all data locally and collects nothing, no such information reaches me. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has entered information into the app, that data resides only on the device and can be removed by deleting it within the app.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. I will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
